A unique one-off masterpiece to house fine wines, incorporating ten separate drawers housed in the outer casings on each side and adjustable shelving for glass storage . The central roll-top cantilevers up, to reveal a pair of small cocktail drawers and a single shelf.
Ingeniously, just below the cantilever roll-top, a lower cross Walnut moulding detail pulls out horizontally to give a substantial serving platform with automatic supporting lopers underneath that support the roll-top surface. The Extraordinary Wine Samplers Cabinet is very streamlined and has a great aesthetic and gravitas.
When opening out from the closed position, the outer casings hinge on a superb pair of cantilever and cylindrical spaced outer-fixed architectural featured hinges that run the full height of the Cabinet on either side, giving amazing detail and real ‘WOW' factor.
When fully opened, the walnut and Pink Ivorywood hinges from the inside of the cabinet give a interesting demi-cylindrical full height detail. All the internal handles and cantilever hinge arms are made from rare solid pink Ivory wood and are all hand-made and bespoke.
The roll-top and extending shelf are made from alternating Lemon wood and English Walnut giving a very pleasing look and contrast. This piece is made from Solid boards of the Finest solid English Walnut with amazing figure to the grain. Solid English Walnut with this amazing figure in wide, solid boards is ‘Golddust' and it is unlikely that this piece could ever be repeated, however it’s not impossible as French walnut could possibly be obtained.
All turned drawer [Old chemist style handles] and hinge cantilever arms are uncompromisingly made from the very rare 'Pink Ivory wood’. Traditionally this stunning Pink extremely hard wood from South Africa was only allowed to be owned by Zulu chiefs due to its rarity and beauty. This piece was made as a Speculative one off piece that has now sold.
