Wave Pen Cabinet
A stunning wall mounted, double serpentine curved Display Pen cabinet. For the use & Display of rare and valuable pens.
The pieces were extremely complex and demanding to design and make, pushing the boundaries of precision cabinet making to another level. The concept was to create a 3D stunning double serpentine curved structure that could be wall mounted to show off beautiful pens with a curved musical piano influence running through the design.
This bespoke piece encompasses custom-made double serpentine glass to create the exact profile to fit into the double serpentine front-casing of the cabinet. The Hinges were specially designed to fit within the narrow space on the inner casing allowing the front to concertina down for access to the pens.
The Hinges and locking catches were made by Master metalwork/engineer the late John Tomlins who also created the custom stainless-steel locking catch and locking lever [hidden].
The cabinet also has its own specially made hidden metal wall fixing plate, into which the piece slots and locks in place. It is constructed from the best bird-eye Maple veneers with solid Ebony pen dividers and inlays incorporating rare adjustable pink Ivory cylindrical pen support pegs.
