Tri-Pyramid Mystery Cabinet
A one-off, extremely complicated, three sectioned pyramid structure, forming three separate individual cabinets. Commissioned for the three members of the same family who each owned one section of the whole piece.
This romantic piece was made from a Mulberry tree that was in the family garden where they were all brought up. It was a truly unusual commission and incorporated in each section three longitudinal side sliding drawers, with the apex piece forming a concealed secret cavity released by a hidden wooden lock.
An inscription by Voltaire is hand carved onto the facia of the bottom lower drawers reading: IL FAUT/ CULTIVER /NOTRE JARDIN. [You must cultivate your garden]
Made to the highest precision in solid English Walnut, Mulberry and Lignum
